Faith and Therapy: A New Service

Logotherapy and Existential Analysis is, by it's very nature, a form of therapy that is very comfortable with 'questions of existence', of which faith is sometimes a vital component. In that respect I have worked with/continue to work with clients of all faiths and none; each individual's perspective is affirmed and respected and the role of the Logotherapist in those matters is a strictly neutral one.
Over the many years I have been practising, there have been clients who have requested a more 'spiritual' dimension to the therapy they receive, where in-depth questions of how they understand and live out their Christian faith are explored.
I have worked with Clergy and specialist Chaplains (hospice/hospital) from across the denominations and in different countries, applying a Logotherapeutic framework in specific ways. I understand that being a Minister or Priest is an incredibly demanding vocation, where stress, burnout, and a sense of isolation are all too common.
I have also provided therapy to people who have been traumatised by spiritual abuse, using my experience as a Consultant EMDR (Trauma) Therapist, in addition to utilising Logotherapy as an adjunct therapy.

I received my theological education at the Bible College of New Zealand (GradCertTh) and Queen's University Belfast (MDiv, with Distinction).
Ordained as a Presbyterian Minister in Northern Ireland in 2008, I served two rural congregations prior to transferring to the Moravian Church where I worked in two Belfast churches. I stepped back from Parish/Congregational Ministry several years ago to concentrate on my Psychotherapy practice.
I am a Life Professed Member of The Order of Ecumenical Franciscans (OEF), a dispersed community of men and women dedicated to living a life of simplicity and service. I am also a longstanding Member of the Society of Ordained Scientists (SOSc), an an International Religious Order of Priest/Minister-Scientists.
I will be opening up a small number of slots beginning in January 2026 to devote to this new and evolving service - it will be delivered online for maximum flexibility. Should you wish to discuss how I can help you, or wish to book an appointment, please contact me via email at scottpeddie@sky.com.
Thank you!
