Healing is a deeply personal journey, and finding the right path can often feel overwhelming. Over time, I have come to appreciate the value of approaches that blend empathy, understanding, and practical strategies.
Every therapist has their own style based on their personality, experience, and training. I would describe my style as reflective, encouraging, affirming, accessible, and sometimes challenging; I employ that approach to help clients effectively address mental health challenges, relationship difficulties, career choices, trauma, and the search for meaning.

The Basics
My approach is grounded in the belief that healing is not a one-size-fits-all process. It recognises the complexity of human experience and the unique challenges each person faces. That is why creating a safe, supportive environment where individuals feel heard and understood is vital.
This strategy integrates evidence-based techniques with a compassionate, client-centred philosophy. It encourages active participation, helping people to develop self-awareness and resilience. Such therapy is designed to be accessible online, making specialised mental health support available to a much wider audience.
Some key elements of this approach include:
Personalised care: Tailoring therapy to individual needs and circumstances.
Holistic focus: Addressing emotional, cognitive, behavioural, and spiritual aspects in accordance with client goals.
Collaborative process: Building a strong therapeutic partnership between the therapist and client.
Practical tools: Offering strategies/attitudinal perspectives that can be applied in daily life.
By combining these elements, my approach aims to foster growth and well-being in a balanced and sustainable way, recognising the need for both sensitivity and patience in tackling complex issues.
For example, when dealing with anxiety, I facilitate the exploration of underlying thoughts and feelings with the aim of assisting my clients to reconnect with the 'defiant power of the human spirit' rather than just managing symptoms. Key to all of this is a deeper understanding of difficulties, or ways of being in the world, leading to lasting and sustainable change.
Practical recommendations and core therapeutic elements to empower clients include:
Existential Analysis to understand all aspect of life, particularly the role of meaning and purpose.
Mindfulness practices to increase present-moment awareness.
Cognitive restructuring to challenge unhelpful thought patterns.
Emotion regulation techniques to manage intense feelings.
Communication awareness to enhance interpersonal connections.
Navigating Trauma with Compassion and Care
Trauma can leave deep wounds that affect many areas of life. My approach addresses trauma with a gentle yet effective framework. It prioritises safety and trust, recognising that healing from trauma requires patience and understanding.
One of the strengths of this approach is its flexibility. It adapts to the pace and readiness of each individual, avoiding pressure or rushed progress. Techniques such as grounding exercises and narrative therapy help clients process traumatic experiences without becoming overwhelmed.
Finding Meaning and Purpose Through Therapy
A significant part of healing involves discovering or rediscovering meaning and purpose. My approach supports this exploration by encouraging reflection on values, goals, and personal strengths. Meaning based therapy encourages self-compassion and responsibility, counteracting feelings of shame or guilt.
Therapy sessions often include reflections that help clarify what matters most to the individual. This can be especially helpful for those feeling lost or stuck. By aligning actions with core values, people can create a more fulfilling and authentic life.
This focus on meaning helps transform therapy from a process of fixing perceived problems into a journey of personal growth and discovery.
Embracing Healing as a Continuous Journey
Healing is not a destination but an ongoing process that requires openness and patience. It recognises that setbacks will inevitably occur but views them as opportunities for learning rather than failure.
One of the most valuable aspects of this approach is its emphasis on self-care and ongoing support. It encourages individuals to develop perspectives that sustain mental wellbeing beyond therapy sessions and is reflective of a lifelong commitment to oneself.
My approach aims to offer a warm, measured, and practical framework for those seeking to heal and grow. By combining empathy with evidence-based techniques, it provides a supportive space to navigate mental health challenges, relationship issues, trauma, and the ongoing search for meaning.
