The Biography in the 'About Me' page is a shortened version. This one is more detailed and I will be updating it periodically as my work and the services I offer changes. I hope it is useful; any queries, please do let me know.
Scott Peddie is the first accredited Logotherapist and Existential Analyst based in Northern Ireland. He trained in Dublin and operates a private practice which began in Belfast, but is now solely online, and has/had clients from a wide range of locations including: Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, New Zealand, Iceland, Argentina, USA, Norway, Romania, and many others.

He is Founder and Director of The Viktor Frankl Centre Northern Ireland (VFC NI) which is accredited by the International Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at the Viktor Frankl Institute Vienna. The Centre offers Diplomas in Logotherapy and Existential Analysis, Clinical Supervision, and Leadership (forthcoming), in addition a wide-range of short courses/workshops.
The VFC NI has a public education remit and periodically offers seminars on a wide range of meaning-centred topics aimed at a general audience. In 2026, 'Understanding Narcissism: An Existential Perspective' and 'Understanding Our Dreams' are the first in the series, and will be followed by 'Living Well With Bipolar Disorder: The Importance of Meaning', and 'The Meaning of Love'.

Scott has a specialist interest in trauma (PTSD/complex PTSD) resulting from abuse and the legacy of the conflict in Northern Ireland. He also works with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, bereavement, career planning, relationship challenges and addiction.
With degrees in science, business management, theology, and the philosophy of mental health, Scott approaches therapy with a wealth of experience in different disciplines. He is a graduate of the University of Aberdeen (UK), Queen’s University Belfast (UK), the University of Lancashire (UK), and the Bible College of New Zealand (now Laidlaw College).
In addition to the Diploma in Logotherapy & Existential Analysis, he has also completed various elements of training at the C.G Jung Centre in Ireland, gaining Professional Diplomas in: Jungian Dream Analysis, Jungian Psychology. Advanced Jungian Psychology, and Jungian Theory & Practice. Prior to that, Scott was awarded a Certificate in Clinical Jungian & Post-Jungian Concepts from the Centre of Applied Jungian Studies in South Africa.
He has worked in Research and Development roles internationally, including as the Managing Director of a Consultancy Company with clients in Australia, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, Venezuela, Canada, and New Zealand. Previous roles include: Editorial Director, Chief Examiner, R&D Manager, Learning and Innovation Manager, and Animal Health Economist.
Over the years, Scott has worked at board/director level in the charitable/not-for-profit sector in both the UK and Belgium.
He brings his unique blend of business experience and meaning-centred therapy to the consultancy work he offers to public and private companies.
In 2008, Scott was Ordained as a Christian Minister and served five congregations in Northern Ireland prior to stepping back to concentrate solely on his Psychotherapy practice. He still retains membership of the Society of Ordained Scientists, the Order of Ecumenical Franciscans, and he has recently returned to Ministry in a voluntary capacity working with marginalised groups.

Scott is currently an Honorary Lecturer in the School of Nursing at Queen’s University Belfast where he provides teaching input on a range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and specialist modules (addiction/self-harm). For six years he was a member of the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Sciences Research Ethics panel. Scott is also Guest Lecturer on the Postgraduate MA Degree in Trauma Studies at University College Cork in the Republic of Ireland.
He was recently appointed as External Examiner of Ridgeway College, an independent training college based in England offering accredited Counselling courses.
Scott has recently written and delivered the Diploma in Logotherapy & Existential Analysis Clinical Supervision to senior Ukrainian colleagues, the first of its kind worldwide. With an emphasis on conflict and post-conflict practice, these newly qualified supervisors are now working with Logotherapists across Ukraine.
Scott holds Fellowships in the Royal Society of Arts (UK), the Royal Society of Public Health (UK), the International Society of Psychotherapy and Counselling (UK/International), and the Institute of Leadership (UK). He is also an accredited Member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society in the UK.
Scott is in the process of writing a book titled. ‘Finding Meaning in Conflict and Beyond: The Story of Northern Ireland’, based on interviews conducted with prominent political/community/religious/media figures; these individuals had unique experiences of the conflict, but also in the development of the peace process and contemporary civic society.
